What is a kitchen wrap?

A kitchen wrap is a thin, self-adhesive architectural vinyl film bonded directly over your existing kitchen surfaces cabinet doors, drawer fronts, panels, benchtops, splashbacks, even appliance fronts. It changes the look without replacing the underlying material. Premium films like 3M DI-NOC are engineered for kitchen-grade heat, moisture and scratch resistance.

What surfaces can be wrapped in a kitchen?

Cabinet doors and drawer fronts (laminate, melamine, MDF, timber, metal), benchtops (laminate, stone, timber), splashbacks (tile is OK if grout lines are filled, glass is great), island sides, kick boards, pantry doors, even rangehoods and dishwasher panels. We do NOT wrap textured stone, badly damaged surfaces, or anywhere with active mould.

How long does a kitchen wrap last?

Premium architectural films are warranted by the manufacturer for 10–12 years interior. In a typical kitchen, expect 7–10+ years of great-looking service. Heavy splash zones near the sink and stove may show wear sooner; high cupboards and pantries can last 15+. The wrap can be removed and replaced down the track without damaging the substrate.

How much does it cost?

A typical L-shaped kitchen runs $2,500–$5,500 supplied and installed in Perth. A larger kitchen with island, butler’s pantry and waterfall benchtop runs $4,500–$8,000+. DIY material-only is roughly 30–40% of the supplied-and-installed cost. By comparison, a new kitchen of similar footprint typically costs $25,000–$60,000+.

How long does installation take?

Most kitchens are wrapped in 1–2 days. The crew removes doors and handles, preps surfaces (degrease, light sand, alcohol wipe), wraps each piece off-site or in place, then reassembles. Your kitchen is functional throughout we don’t remove the sink or appliances.

Can I get samples first?

Yes $5 per A4 swatch, shipped Australia-wide. Hold them up to your existing cabinets, in your kitchen lighting, before you commit. Order as many as you like; most customers sample 3–6 finishes before deciding.

Do you install outside Perth?

Accepted Answer

We’re Perth-based and our in-house installation crew works the Perth metro area only. Outside Perth, we ship the materials and a step-by-step DIY guide Australia-wide. If you’d like an installer, get in touch and tell us your city, we may know a trusted local. We won’t list a partner network we don’t personally vouch for.

Can I install it myself?

Accepted Answer

Yes a competent DIYer with a squeegee, sharp blade, heat gun and a free weekend can absolutely wrap a flat-fronted kitchen. Curved cabinet doors, profiled shaker fronts and waterfall benchtops are trickier and benefit from a pro. Read our installation guide before deciding.

Will it survive heat from the cooktop, kettle and oven?

Architectural films are heat-rated and unaffected by everyday kitchen heat boiling kettles, oven doors, dishwasher steam. Direct, sustained flame contact (open gas burners against a vertical wrap) is the only no-no, which is the same rule that applies to all kitchen finishes including melamine and timber.

How do I clean a wrapped kitchen?

Soft cloth and warm soapy water. Avoid abrasive scourers, bleach, oven cleaner, acetone or methylated spirits. For stubborn marks, dilute isopropyl alcohol on a microfibre cloth works well. The exact same care as you’d give a quality melamine kitchen.

Can the wrap be removed later?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Premium films are designed for clean removal with controlled heat they come off without damaging the substrate beneath. That makes wrap a great option for renters (with landlord approval) and for buyers who want a refreshed kitchen now without permanently changing the cabinetry.

What’s the minimum order quantity for materials?

Accepted Answer

5 linear metres per product (most films), 20 linear metres for 3M DI-NOC ranges (smaller kitchen-sized lots may be available on request). No minimum on A4 samples order as many or as few as you like.
